Scoring

oints for any title awarded to a participant of a show held within the Rating are taken into account while determining the results of the Rating.
The points awarded for the title are multiplied by the coefficient of the show category.

The participants score points within the current calendar year.
At the beginning of the next calendar year the results of the TopCat Rating for the previous year are announced, and the best pets, breeders, catteries and clubs are determined.

Scoring rules do not change within the current calendar year.

Best in Show

The points scored at Best in Show are multiplied by the coefficient of the show category (see table 1).
The number of the participants is the number of the pets judged by an expert being in charge for awarding the title during both days of the show (participation in mono-breed shows and rings is not taken into account).

Table 1 - Coefficients depending on the show category:

Category Description Coefficient
Category I 49-80 participants 0,5
Category II 81-150 participants 1
Category III 151-300 participants 2
Category IV 301 participants or more 3
Category V 550 participants or more 4

Please, note
that a multiplying coefficient is applied to the points awarded to the participants at the Final TopCat Show. They are multiplied by 2.

Please, note
that the procedure for holding Best in Show is determined and monitored by show organizers (including the number of hair groups)!

Best in Show could be held in two FORMATS:

FORMAT 1 - Best cat is chosen in each class: Baby, Kitten, Junior, Neuter, Veteran and, separetely in Adults - best Adult cats are put into places in the Best of Best.
FORMAT 2 - Best cat is chosen in each hair group and then cats are put onto places (I, II, III, ...)

FORMAT 1:

  1. Litter category
In the Litter category, one best litter is chosen from among the present ones. (Age in the Litter category: 10-12 weeks).
  2. Kitten, Junior, Neuter, Veteran categories.
Titles at Best in Show in the following categories:
    - Kitten (3-6 months)
    - Kitten (6-10 months) /Junior
    - Neuter (more than 10 months)
    - Veteran (more than 8 years)
may be awarded in accordance with the following schemes:
    • Kitten (3-6), Kitten (6-10)/Junior
    • Neuter
    • Veteran

    • Household Pet
  3. Adult Category

Adult animals are divided into the following hair groups within Best in Show:
-LH (longhair)
-SLH (semi-longhair)
-SH (shorthair)
-SIA/ORI (siamese oriental shorthair)

If there are less than 15 animals in the main categories (LH, SLH, SH, SOSH), the categories are combined in the following manner:
- LH and SLH
- SOSH and SH
- HL and SIA/ORI

If a mono-breed show is held within an exhibition, and there are more than 15 pets of that breed, this group may be nominated for Best in Show independently (this should be agreed with the organization that has issued a license for the show).
Thus, there can be more than 4 hair groups in the final of Best in Show, and in such a case cats should be awarded their places I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, ect., and opposite sex cats should be awarded titles in accordance with their groups.

Winners in categories Best Supreme and Best General can be determined at a show.

  • The best animals in these categories can be chosen at the sole discretion of show organizers; this is not obligatory;

  • Information on the winners in these categories should be recorded in the minutes of the show.
